B vitamins

All About B Vitamins!

Ever wondered exactly what was in a B vitamin?  Well, here is your answer.  A typical B-complex will have the following:

B1 (Thiamine)

B1 is needed for metabolism of carbohydrates and plays a role in nerve transmission.  It’s depleted with alcohol consumption!

B2 (Riboflavin)

B2 is needed for adrenal function and energy production.  Did you know that if you are taking birth control, you are inhibiting your body’s ability to absorb B2?

B3 (Niacin)

B3 is necessary for a healthy heart and can lower cholesterol.

B5 (pantothenic acid)

B5 is needed to metabolize proteins, carbs and fats and is needed for health skin!

B6 (pyridoxine)

B6 is my FAVORITE B! B6 is needed for nerve conduction, immune function and ensuring metabolic processes run smoothly.

B7 (biotin)

B7 is necessary for your skin, intestinal tract and nervous system.

B9 (folate)

B9 is essential for human growth and development, normal nerve and proper brain functioning. This vitamin deserves it’s own post!

B12 (cobalamin)

B12 is the most well-known B! B12 is essential for our red blood cells, nerves and aids in production of DNA and neurotransmitters.

The big question is….are you taking the RIGHT B-vitamin? Are you getting ENOUGH B-vitamins? Are you vegetarian and not getting enough B’s from your diet?

Your body might have the inability to methylate and then it’s imperative you take the right form of B’s. Do you need it as an injection, orally or intravenously? This is where I can help!
